  • New York, NY United States (map)

Join renowned street photographers and members of NYC-SPC, Sonia Goydenko and Mathias Wasik, for an immersive one-day workshop in the vibrant heart of Manhattan. This hands-on experience is a unique opportunity to develop your street photography skills while capturing the vibrant holiday spirit and bustling energy of Manhattan's streets.

Join us for an unforgettable street photography experience in the heart of New York City during the bustling holiday season. Our workshop begins in front of the main entrance of Macy's at Herald Square, where you'll meet Sonia Goydenko and Mathias Wasik for a brief introduction.

The photographic journey starts on lively 34th Street, capturing the vibrant holiday scenes and shoppers in action.

From there, we'll walk up Fifth Avenue, documenting the festive spirit between 42nd and 57th Streets. This stretch, known for its spectacular holiday displays and bustling crowds, offers a wealth of photographic opportunities.

After exploring Fifth Avenue, the group will take the subway to West 4th Street, where we'll take a short break for coffee and snacks, mingle with fellow photographers, and discuss our experiences so far. The day's exploration will conclude in and around Washington Square Park, a perfect setting to capture the contrast between the commercial holiday buzz and the artistic, more laid-back vibe of the park.

Following the day of shooting, participants will reconvene for a 2-hour online meet-up. This session is an invaluable opportunity to share your best photos from the day, receive constructive critique, and discuss your experiences and learnings with the group. This interactive follow-up is a crucial part of the learning experience, allowing you to reflect on your work and gain insights from your peers and instructors.
